Love Kept Us Together

On the Zephyr line, headed west that day Stopped in Colfax, fate made a play In the barcar glow, we drank it dry Your eyes caught mine, I can't tell you why First kiss hit me like a lightning fire One spark lit a lifetime of desire We were different worlds but our hearts both knew Rich girl, poor boy But the fire still grew Strong-willed woman And I fell for you We chased down dreams Through the storms, through the weather Lost some found hope But love kept us together your books I had my scars but together we build more than the stars your roots run deep with a fire and spice Mexican soul my forever We were fire and steel, we were storm and rain But passion like ours was worth the pain Through the fights, through the doubt, through the endless night We held on strong, we found the light We chase down dreams Through the storms, through the weather Lost some found hope Miles through the fear through the endless unknown We build a life we carved a home It was never easy but it's always been true My forever begins and it ends The fire still We chased down dreams Through the storms, through the weather Lost some found hope But love kept us together Through it all Love kept us together
